Hi. I’m posting from Starbs. I just got a sh*t ton of work done thanks to a tall skinny peppermint mocha. Soo good. I’m not convinced it has 100 calories though. Taste like more.

I’ve been suuuper busy with school, Christmas, wedding stuff, etc. As far as wedding stuff goes, we’re getting married August 18th! Whoo! At the Smithville Inn, which is a super cute place down in South Jersey. We also bought the save-the-dates for super cheap on Cyber Monday, which made me happy. I joined theknot.com to help me with this planning crap, because I honestly have no idea what I’m supposed to be doing and I’m – ugh, sorry, a teen couple across from is hardcore making out with tongue. Gross. Gross. Get a room. Anywho, yeah, I have no idea what I’m supposed to be doing, so they have a timed checklist which has been super helpful. But, I’m supposed to have the florist, DJ, officiant, and be all registered by like, tomorrow. Yeah, not happening. Besides registering…I totally got the fun part out of the way! Ha. But I just know the florist is going to be like, what is your vision? And I’m going to be like, “…flowers.”

In other news, today begins the internship application process. Yay. It ends Feb. 15. Then I find out April 1st. I have a 10% chance. Soo, yeah. I have yet to meet someone who has actually gotten one. Must. Have. Hope! School is almost over. I have 2 more Tuesday classes and 1 more Wednesday class. Then finals, which are just presentations. (Okay, 1 ridiculously hard test.) Must. Make. It. Through!

So if you didn’t know already Shane & I are engaged. He proposed on Saturday night! Completely shocked me. What’s funny is that before I left work, a coworker asked me, “So when are you guys getting married??” I really thought he was in on it. But apparently it was just coincidence. We went to the mall to get new work pants that morning, watched a sh*t ton of “Ghost Whisperer” (my new favorite show), then I left for work. I feel like between Facebook, Twitter and the Internet in general, nothing is private anymore, so I won’t share the deets….that’s mine. All I’ll say is that I was completely thrown for a loop. And since people will ask, here’s a crappy picture of the ring that does it NO justice!

It’s great hearing from all your family and friends afterwords…and I didn’t even do anything…just said yes! Unfortunately the next day we both had to work, on like no sleep, then I had to do a project, go to school, school again…and I just want. To. Sleep. Relax a little…with my fiance!

What’s funny is that Saturday morning we had no plans of getting married (not set ones, at least). Now, we have an idea of when (sort of – at least we know when we can’t – and it might be sooner than later!), I know exactly who I want in the wedding, I already know the dress (priced for a poor man’s budget), the colors, the favors (also priced for a poor man’s budget), rehearsal dinner site, dress colors….and what’s even funnier is that we didn’t even really have to think about these things too much. We talked about a lot when we were up Sat night….but it’s just weird to think…one week ago I knew nothing. Or…maybe we’re eloping.

I’m at Starbucks currently trying to get my learn on. Seems like a good thing to do on a rainy day off. I’m getting quite distracted though, between the skeezy coked-out customer that just left and the other odd people that have walked in. Annnd….a co-worker just walked in, haha. I’m going to miss everyone after I leave.

Oh…I don’t think I ever posted it, but next week I start a new job at a hospital. It’s definitely time for a change, time to do what it is I’ve been going to school for.

Speaking of degrees and what not, yesterday I went to apply for graduation. Can’t believe it’s come so quick. Still have a lot to do though. Have to finish up this semester and take 4 classes next semester. And I’ll be done in May. Now, the question is, to walk or not to walk. It’s my second (almost, almost 3rd) degree so who cares right? I don’t want to (pay for the friggin gown etc.) ahem, but I guess I’ll see if anyone wants to come.

September 23rd was the start. It really is my favorite season. I love everything about it – pretty leaves, hoodies, being comfy, tea, weather, Uggs (hopefully a new pair soon), Halloween (second only to Christmas), the smell of woodburning stoves, punkins, punkins, punkins, crockpot, etc. etc. etc.!

School & Schtuff

Sorry my posts are sporadic…I’m getting into the swing of school again. Bleh. Today was my first day of Tuesday classes. They were ok so far. The teachers seem very nice. You know you’re in school again when you tell your boyfriend to not eat the same thing as lunch to “vary his nutrients.” I have four classes this semester, including a counseling class in which I really have to counsel someone through Montclair and advanced nutrition, which is the earlier nutrition classes I had on steroids. I only have classes on Tuesday & Wednesdays and the rest of the days will be filled with work.

On Friday, Boyfriend and I got our first pumpkin spice lattes from Starbucks. So good, but so expensive. Can’t wait to make my version again. After that we went to Michael’s and got some fall decor (well, Boyfriend wandered to the picture frame section). Man, I could spend a sh*t ton there. One day…. But I got some faux flowers to make it look like the fall.

Perfect Day for Soup…

Today it rained and rained and rained some more, kind of like Irene aftermath or something, so I made soup of all roots + chicken. Soo good. Throw roots in a crock pot, add chicken, put that b*tch on high for 5 hours and voila.

Oh, and I also cut the sh*t out of my hand in the process. Ouch. I actually have a picture but I’ll be polite and not post.

Anywhos, speaking of food, guess what I found in the store finally….pumpkin! Target knows how to make me happy. My grocery store still doesn’t have it. I also put out my Halloween decoration. Yes. Singular. Just one of them, for now. Sure felt like fall today.

Now I just have to figure out what I want to cook with it. Pumpkin oatmeal, pumpkin brownies, pumpkin lattes, pumpkin yogurt. Mmm. Lots of fiber and awesomeness, yet low in calories.

Okay, time to go to bed. I have my first class of 23rd grade tomorrow at 8:30. I forget what it’s called but it has the number “350″ and is a lab. Wish me luck!

I’m on Boyfriend’s computer right now which is awful because it’s his old work one. We’re in South Brunswick riding out the ‘cane since he can’t go to his NYC bureau. It was nice to relax without anything to do, but no power, so bored. It’s hell out there! Hope you guys are safe.

Mmm. One of my favorite combos, plus I put cinnamon on mine. And great pre-workout fuel. And post. And snack. I’m such a sucker for peanut butter so I actually try not to buy it. :/ Now I’m about to go run 5-6 miles since the sun finally decided to come out. Then I’ll do some serious at-home errands for the rest of the day. Eeeemaiillsss.

The bridal shower was fun – it’s always nice to be home. We got to see the winery where Renee is getting married and it was sooo cute. The wedding is in October….I’m excited for her. And best of all, I don’t have to buy shoes! Well, I can if I want but she said she doesn’t care what we wear so I don’t think I will. Here’s the bridal party (sorry so blurry):

And apparently the earth shook yesterday? I wouldn’t know. I was at work and Boyfriend texted me asking if I felt the earthquake. My first instinct was to write, “No, b/c there wasn’t one.” But I guess if someone texts you from a NYC newsroom they know more sh*t than you do. So I went to the Interwebs and sure enough. Me? I was eating a salad and reading my magazine. Hope the folks in VA are ok w/ little damage!

TGIFF + Randomness

I have a 4-day weekend so you can imagine what that extra f is thrown in there for. Today I’m going home for Renee’s bridal shower. You can bet your *ss I’ll be OD’ing on some of this:

Actually, the last two weekends we’ve played with Dory & Jeff and they live right near a Wawa, so I haven’t been THAT deprived. Fun times though, I’m trying to cram as much summer fun/beach/barbecue action in the rest of summer as I can. We also went to Wildwood to visit my brother last Wednesday (loooonggg drive). Boyfriend’s first time swimming in the NJ ocean. I think he ~~likes~~ loves the ocean.

Anywhos, yesterday I was running around getting stuff for the bridal shower and Michael’s had all of their fall decor and Halloween stuff out and it made me happy. I wanted to move in. Hoodie weather is on. its. way. Unfortunately my running around left me eating sporadically (I was always interested in how a dietitian/future dietitian ate so why not…):

Breakfast: 1/2 cup kashi, 1/2 cup muesli, 1/2 banana
Snack: apple, pb
Post workout: protein shake
At work: organic protein bar, veggies and hummus, nuts, banana
After work: small dinner of tortellini, followed by half slice of wheat with pb & banana

I don’t like eating like that…so unstructured. Today is going to be similar. I have to drive 3 hours, go to a drs appt, find shoes for a wedding dress (even though the wedding is 2 months away…gotta be prepared), then get my hair did by my neice. I’m thinking a longer version of this:
