Back From San Diego/LA…

Us and the Pacific Coast Highway

Us and the Pacific Coast Highway

Big thanks to Jerry and Natasha for showing us LA :) I saw Chelsea. We bonded, joked, talked midgets. Kidding. She barely talked to the audience. After such trip we headed to San Diego via Amtrak. Here’s one of my favorite pics; Yes, he was a real bird. He was cool, too. He looked at me all like, wtf are you staring at punk???:

I'm a Pirate!

I'm a Pirate!

It’s Back!

But it’s sooo expensive. It’s the Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte. Still, it’s just sooo good.

ADDICTION!

ADDICTION!

I’m going tomorrow morning to get one. Then, I’m going to try and figure out how to recreate it at home. I actually found a few recipes on the web. Ok, a lot of them. Apparently EVERYone is addicted. Here’s the giste of it: *Note, this is NOT my recipe. If it doesn’t work, not my fault.

1/2 cup strong brewed coffee (like, super strong. It’s Starbucks.)
1 cup half and half, something of the sort
1 tbs pumpkin puree (I’d use like 3. Seriously. Love that shit.)
1 tsp of Torani’s Pumpkin Spice Syrup (Love Torani!)

In saucepan, stir puree into the half and half. Add syrup. Stir constantly. In blender, whip mixture until foaming (20 seconds). Pour mixture into cup and pour coffee on top. Put whipped cream allll over the top of that shit and some nutmeg on top. (Me, personally, I might even skip the blender part.)

I’m so trying this tomorrow…I’m on a mission.

IT’S CHELSEA DAY!

…since I got tickets for the Chelsea Handler show in LA for September 21st, I name this Chelsea Handler Day!!

What...a mess.

What...a mess.

If you don’t know who she is, she’s a comedian with a show on E! late at night. She’s a pretty strong flavor and very controversial, but she has me cracking up. Her books are super fabulous too. And did I mention Chuy?

To celebrate, I downloaded three Chelsea ringtones: “A REAL hot mess is calling you right now.” (That’s for you, Renee.) “I seee your peekachu.” (Probably, that’s innappropriate. Maybe Dory. She’s pretty innappropriate.) “Pick up those nugget hands and answer the phone.” (Hmm…I’m still thinking about who I can designate for that one.)

Then, like Chelsea, I referred to everyone I hate that just won’t seem to go away, as Herpes Simplex I & II.

I’m psyched! Unfortunately it’s like every other talk show, where even though it’s free, you gotta stand in line a few hours beforehand, and aren’t guaranteed to see the show. So, all this talk and my ass better get in! Boyfriend doesn’t really care much for her, but he’s taking one for the team. ;)

Happy Chelsea Day!

I bought a new planner recently, it’s cute and you can put a picture in the front. Anywho, I was going through my old one and it brought back a lot of memories. Man, a lot has changed in a year.

A year ago today, the exact day…
I was driving home from my last day in South Brunswick and preparing for my first day in NYC and probably, scared shitless. Correction…I was not driving home, per se, I was driving to Shane’s, which would become my new home.

I was also finishing up my second day of grad school and trying to get a grasp on that. That following Saturday, we were leaving for a vacation in Denver, so I was also trying to prepare for that. Mind you, I had no idea of any of these changes (except grad school, obviously I knew I got accepted) up until like, a week beforehand. Nuts!

And look at life now….I left that job, and now I’m on my third job at wsj. It was a super hard decision to leave the second, but I’m really happy I did.

I can’t believe that:
