Thunderstorms & Food

I was up at 7:30 this morning to the sound of some serious thunderstorms. So I actually decided to make breakfast, along with my coffee (today was caramel-flavored Torani, well, the Target version of it.) As you know I’m pretty adventurous with my food. But I hate beets, cantoloupe, and liver. No thanks.

But Boyfriend apparently orders these egg & bacon sandwiches at work and I’m sure they have like 600 calories and 78 grams of fat, 70 of them saturated. So I went to Target last night and got Egg Beaters (a staple of mine), these pita-muffin things, and MorningStar meatless bacon (I’m not too fond of regular bacon).

Shhh, don't tell Boyfriend.

Shhh, don't tell Boyfriend.

It wasn’t too bad. However, now I know why the package says not to overcook. Here’s what came out: it would normally run me about 250 calories, but I added extra eggs for my lunch workout. (I said it. Now I have to do it.) Btw, you’ll notice a futuristic toaster behind it. It makes eggs as it toasts! Unfortunately I didn’t have nonstick spray so I couldn’t do this today.

Yum

And just for shits and giggles…here’s what our refridgerator looks like: Beer from move-in day, milk and salsa. Clearly the essentials.

Essentials.

Essentials.

And I’ll post some pics…once the boxes are out of the way of the view. :)

Forget Starbucks, Get Torani

I have a task ahead of me so I thought I’d procrastinate while I drank my coffee. :)

I found Torani syrup yesterday at Wal-Mart (there is one literally 2 minutes from here unfortunately…I’ll get to that in a second) and it is fantastic! For $3.68, you need to get yourself some of these for your morning/afternoon/midnight coffee. They come in a bunch of different flavors. I got the Vanilla, sugar-free of course. My coffee is amazing. Why spend a sh*tload at Starbucks?!?

Taren need coffee. Cheap coffee!

Taren need coffee. Cheap coffee!

So I got a cart for the first time in a store yesterday. I figured I couldn’t carry all of that shiz in a tote thing. Never again. And I’m sorry, is Wal-Mart a place to bring your kids and beat them?!? I heard at least 3 screaming bloody murder. And people were just standing in aisles…not moving politely. Unfortunately this does not deter people from coming though – it attracts them in swarms. However, it did provide me with the products I needed and for that I am thankful.

I figured out that my Wii doesn’t play DVDs this morning. Score one for the Nintendo makers. Thankfully I got Shane’s computer to play some. I’m watching season one of “The Office.” Count Choculitis.

Ok, time to do things. Look at this gorgeous day (no, please do not offer plants. I will just kill them.)

OH HI, NICE TO SEE YOU AGAIN, SUN.

Live From Metuchen

Hiii.

I’m in our (Shane & I’s) new apartment. It’s so cute! I sure hope it stays this way. :-) I’m stealing someone’s internet right now since we won’t have cable until Friday. But since I have it now I thought I’d write :)

I’d like to say a big “thanks” to my family for helping me today. My sister, brother, dad and step-mom helped out with the moving and also gave us a lot of stuff. My sister gave us a table and my brother gave us a lot of stuff, among many, a George Foreman Grill. For that, I must thank him. The George Foreman Grill cannot be underestimated in it’s capabilities. I had one in college (R.I.P.) and it was abfantastic. You can cook anything on that shit.

There’s still a lot we need to do but I plan to spend tomorrow putting my nose to the grindstone and doing some serious work. God I can’t wait until my first cup of coffee….

Bachelorette Mayhem & Packing

Sooo sorry I haven’t updated in awhile. Last you knew I was doing a night shift. I could still be sleeping for all you know.

Anywho, Dory’s bachelorette party was last weekend! ‘Twas much fun. Tiring, but a lot of fun. It was nice to hang out with the girls for once instead of the 1715 boys. Not that I don’t mind hanging out with them, but you get my point. ;) We met up with Sue at her place, then went to the Hyatt in Jersey City, then met up with Talia at an Italian restaurant in the city – I forget what it was called but it was sooo good. Expensive, but good! After that, some top secret fun went down. ;) Okay, we pretty much drank, danced, and had fun until about 4. I wish I could post pics but unfortunately I got there and realized my camera didn’t have the memory card in it. Boo.

Right now I’m at work anticipating leaving so I can finish packing. Shane & I are moving to Metuchen tomorrow. :) We don’t even have couches. Not really sure about plates. Just got silverware the other day. He sent me pictures of 2 sets and I’m like, “Get the first one.” I looked at it again and it has enough for 4 people. So, we can only have 2 people over at a time.

If you come over please bring your own fork. :)
